It is, of course, hugely tempting to spend the next couple of months relaxing, taking holidays, hanging out with friends, or working to boost your bank account.\u00a0 All of those things are important, and should take up some time of your time, but it\u2019s also wise not to neglect your studies.<\/p>\n

#1 Check the spec<\/h3>\n

One of the first things you should do is make sure you understand precisely what it is you\u2019re going to be covering in your A Level course over the next two years.\u00a0 This is easy to find out \u2013 simply go on to the exam board\u2019s website and look up your chosen subject.\u00a0 If you\u2019re not sure which examining board you will be studying under, contact your college and they will be able to help.\u00a0 It\u2019s important to make sure you have this information right, as some courses vary slightly.<\/p>\n

From here, you will be able to obtain the full specification for your course.\u00a0 For example, a quick glance at the AQA A Level Mathematics specification shows you\u2019ll be studying statistical sampling, forces and Newton\u2019s Laws, integration and trigonometry (to name but a few).<\/p>\n

Admittedly, looking at a list like this may either have you feeling excited to get started, or overwhelmed; but either way, it\u2019s vital information. If you know what\u2019s coming, you\u2019re going to be in a better position to prepare for it, and ensure you\u2019re ready to get started once lessons commence again.<\/p>\n

\"Online<\/p>\n

#2 Revise<\/h3>\n

Don\u2019t hate us, we know you\u2019ve just finished revising and you\u2019re still riding that high from completing your last exam.\u00a0 It was only a couple of weeks ago and you are definitely not ready to consider going through it all over again.\u00a0 We get it, but hear us out.<\/p>\n

Now you\u2019re armed with the course specification for each of your A Level subjects you can get a feel for the topics that are perhaps a bit more daunting.\u00a0 If you\u2019re about to embark on a Chemistry A Level, and you already know your physical chemistry knowledge is a bit shaky, this summer is a perfect chance to go over things like atomic structure, bonding or thermodynamics.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s important to remember here that you\u2019re simply trying to brush up or enhance your knowledge.\u00a0 You don\u2019t need to spend hours a day revising or cramming information into your already exhausted brain. Instead, you\u2019re trying to ensure you either gain a better understanding of concepts you\u2019ve struggled with previously, or you\u2019re making sure you don\u2019t forget information you\u2019ve already learnt.
