My approach is to breakdown complex theories in a fun and interactive manner that can be seen in the real world. Carrying out lessons with the use of PowerPoints, worksheets and past exam questions to prepare students for exams accompanied with supportive feedback.
In the past I have tutored friends during studies as well as younger cousins with their GCSE's. Having achieved 3 As at A level in psychology, sociology and Religious studies I feel I can offer help and guidance in exam techniques.
I would approach each lesson as a break up of the topic to simplify it and make it more interactive and interesting by using PowerPoints, making worksheets and having topical and thought provoking discussions to overlap textbook knowledge to the real world. Also any areas that a student was struggling with would be looked over and homework or small assignments given to enhance the students independent learning.
Exam Board Experience
I have taken many exams over the course of my GCSES and A level studies and am very familiar with what they would like to see in students writing especially when it comes to essays in the structure and components that are needed to ensure a high grade.
Student Success Stories
A friend of mine who was finding religious studies dull i managed to spark her interest in it again resulting in better grades. Similarly helping family members in sociology has resulted in higher grades, clearer understanding and more engagement within the topics.
