Brandon T

Hi, my name's Brandon, and I'm a fourth year medical student at Newcastle. I provide online and in person (local to central Newcastle) tuition for the below subjects. I am experienced across the ability spectrum, including SEND students. I have availability Monday to Saturday currently, as it's only the start of the academic year. Outside of tutoring, I have an academic interest in cardiology. I'm President of my medical school's cardiology society; in addition, I'm looking to publish soon. Outside of all work, I'm a middle distance runner, and (trying to) learn the drums. Look forward to meeting soon!

I have been tutoring students aged 11 to 18 for 2 years, across the ability spectrum and in a variety of contexts. Some have strived for top grades; as a medical student, I can teach extracurricular content, to help them compete with personal statements and interviews. Others have had difficulties, and have needed intense tuition to achieve that pass.

My approach is informal, interactive and flexible. It's important to establish a baseline and some realistic targets first. If right for the student, I set homework; this focuses on the easy content, so we can reserve the harder stuff for our lessons! I maximise the time in lesson engaging the student with practice questions, rather than passively teaching.
