Catherine H

I am a 2021 graduate from Durham University who studied modern languages and cultures, specifically Spanish. I have spent 6 months in Cuba and Argentina for my year abroad which really enhanced my passion and learning of the language. I am fully knowledgeable of all the requirements for GCSE Spanish and I am very confident to tutor GCSE Spanish students to prepare them for all aspects of their exams.

2015: Infant school beginner Spanish workshop fortnightly 2019: Working as an Au pair teaching two children English 2020: I prepared and gave classes to a large group of Argentinian children from ages 4-14. These teaching experiences have helped me immensely in developing my skills as a tutor as I had lots of practice planning classes as well as delivering them. <Phone Number Redacted>: I tutored a student for 7 months in preparation for his GCSEs

Lesson Outline: The first lesson will be used to assess what level the student is at and what can be approved upon. From key stage 1 to A level I will use the structure of the school Spanish curriculum to serve as a guideline of what to teach to achieve the best grades possible. However, I will also include materials that may not be used in class such as film or podcasts to vary the learning a bit to keep it as interesting as possible. Seeing as I have done GCSE Spanish and IB Spanish I know what the examiners are looking for to get a high grade as well as a student perspective.
