I like to find out how best the student learns and which way the student will take information best in before I make a full plan of how to teach each student. Eg. are they more visual so can understand from talking through videos together or are they more problem solving based where we work through past exam questions to get the answer. Either way I break down the larger topic into smaller chunks that are more manageable and then slowly show how it all pieces together.

I completed A levels in Biology, Chemistry and Maths before going on to study Biomedical Science at University of Southampton (2.1 Hons). I have since completed a PhD in Neuroscience at University College London which is ranked second in the world and first in Europe for Neuroscience. I am still working there as a scientific researcher but I am a tutor on the side. I have successfully tutored two students through their GCSE science, each achieving a higher grade than they expected. I have also been a PhD tutor for The Brilliant Club, a scheme that teaches high-achieving school pupils in a university style to complete an assessment the level above which they are at. I did this for both KS2 and KS3 students for 3 years.
