I am a Nursing student with a passion for maths and science. I love a challenge and equally love helping others. I have only recently been diagnosed with over-compensating dyslexia, which negatively affected my A level results, unfortunately. However, my dyslexia allows me to provide a different teaching perspective than what you would receive in a typical classroom environment.

I have tutored three students so far. One was online and the others are in person. I have chosen not to continue with online sessions as I felt it didn’t let me fully connect with the student, however, I am still tutoring one student, who i have been tutoring since January 2020.

I personally like to create a plan that starts at the lower level work (levels 1-3) and gradually increase. From that plan I try and make sure every topic is covered before their GCSEs and make time for some past paper work and to cover anything they feel they need help with. However, if the student wants to do something else in the lesson that they feel will benefit them a lot then I will work my lesson plans around them.

I haven’t worked personally with exam boards, but my Maths GCSE was with edexcel and my science subjects were AQA. At A level all my subjects were AQA, so i do have a strong understanding with what AQA exam boards are looking out for.

I have only spend a small amount of time with one of my students and already her teacher has stated she sees a big change in her academic performance.
