I recently qualified as a teacher of secondary geography and have been supply teaching since. I have got a very strong background in environmental and outdoor education as well as education for sustainable development and I enjoy teaching geography in a topical and relatable way.

I have been tutoring in various capacities for over 10 years - I have taught a range of subjects to high school students as well as languages to (German, English, FInnish) to adults. During part of my time at university, I was employed as a professional part-time tutor at a tutoring academy; teaching both one-on-one as well as groups of students from primary up to A-Level.

I like to begin my lessons with an engaging, captivating starter that gets students thinking about a new idea whilst activating prior knowledge. I do believe in the importance of frequently revisiting previously learnt content to make meaningful connenctions, and I regularly set homework to add an element of independence to revision work. I will prepare rough lesson plans prior to my lessons, but I prefer to keep this quite flexible in order to tailor the teaching of a specific content area to a student's interests, strengths and weaknesses.
