I am a student at the University of Bath in my final year of Masters degree in Civil Engineering. I grew up in the Midlands and have been in Bath for the last 4 years. I would say my passion for maths, design, and problem-solving lead me towards civil engineering, along with that feeling of satisfaction when I have finally figured a problem out, and I hope to instil that same reaction in my tutees.

During my A-Levels, I was a Tutor/Mentor for Maths and Science Masterclasses for local primary schools This covered occasional Saturdays during term time over this three year period and included group sessions, one to ones and open day events. I lead a group helping to run and organise the mornings ensuring that the years 5 to 6, primary school children involved, understood what it is they were being taught, communicating with each of them clearly and responding to questions.

Initially, I would find out the students objectives; what they want to achieve, and how many sessions we have together to make that a reality. Next, an assessment through examples and tests will be conducted to garner a better understanding of where the student's current ability is. Then finally through more examples, exercises, and feedback, any aspects of the subject that need more work will become stronger and parts that they were already comfortable with will be reinforced.
