I have a BA Hons in Mathematics from York University and PGCE from the Open University. I worked for many years in the IT Industry as a Programmer, Business Analyst and then Project Manager before training as a teacher.

I am qualified to teach maths at KS3 and KS4 and have been offering 1-on-1 tuition as a full time tutor since 2012. Since 2015 some of my students have requested that I continue to tutor them through A level and I now also offer this to new students.

Initially I spend some time discovering where my students are confident in their maths skills and where they may have missed picking up on key areas of knowledge. I have a large library books, worksheets and test papers that I can match to suit a student’s needs and when necessary I also create my own materials. I also have a variety of on-line programs and maths apps, including graphing tools, that I can use to diagnose misconceptions, make lessons fun and introduce more visual ways of understanding topics.
