I am currently in my final year of studying English Literature (MA) at the University of Edinburgh and I am applying for teacher training programs for when I graduate. I like to tailor my tutoring methods to each pupil as everyone learns best in different ways. Currently I am only doing online lessons due to lockdown rules, but I will move into both online and in-person when allowed to do so.

I’m hoping to go onto to study secondary school English teaching after my current English Literature degree to become a qualified teacher. Tutoring is a great way for me to build on my teaching skills and do what I enjoy doing!

I don’t have a set lesson plan structure as I feel that each student will have different needs and methods which will help them best. Therefore, during the first meeting I will do an assessment to tailor my lesson plans to the individual pupil. I will ask the parents/pupil how they would prefer to learn and work around that. I am happy to set homework but that is optional. For pupils with upcoming exams I will propose to start with going through the curriculum and then past exam papers.
