Lily C

Hello! My name's Lily and I'm a 4th year Modern Languages student. I love my degree as it allows me to communicate with a wide range of people and appreciate different cultures. At school and college, I really enjoyed the wide range of subjects that I studied. Tutoring gives me the opportunity to revisit these subjects that I miss ! I had excellent teachers throughout my school life, and with their guidance I managed to achieve high grades. I hope to relay these strategies and skills to help other pupils attain top marks too. I'm enthusiastic, patient and reliable, and am committed to putting my all into my lessons. I hope to hear from you!

Although I have not had a large amount of tutoring experience before, I did spend two months au pairing in Paris, where I helped the children with their homework each night. I enjoyed this much more than I expected, so decided to take a teaching module this year at university.

My lesson layout would be demonstration, practise, feedback. I would start by revisiting any difficult points from the previous lesson, and then teach any new content, demonstrating an 'ideal' way to tackle a question. I would then guide the student through a similar question, encouraging them to follow the model template. I would finish with feedback of their work, and explain any possible improvements. If a consolidation activity would be beneficial, I would want to set a short task as homework to make sure the student was completely happy with the content.
