My name is Louise and I have a genuine love for science! I feel strongly that science is a subject that doesn’t have to be boring and can be brought to life.
As a student myself I decided to take all sciences at A-Level. I quickly realised my love for Chemistry and for Biology. I went on to study essentially a combination of the two at university were I studied Biochemistry. I loved studying for my degree and decided to stay an extra year and complete my masters. After my masters I felt I really wanted to pass on my love for science on to younger generations and so decided to get in to teaching. I studied for my PGCE specialising in Chemistry. I have been working at an FE college now for 4 years teaching a range of Chemistry modules.
I can teach Biology up to GCSE level and Chemistry from GCSE through to A-Level. My teaching style is relaxed and friendly. I like to make my students feel on a level with me. I like to break down difficult topics and go back to the basics in some cases before building up to more difficult ideas. I am a firm believer in coloured notes and organisation and will get my students notes organised from day one. In my opinion this really helps with revision and keeping topics clear.
Working in a college part time I have a very up to date knowledge of exam boards and the constant changes in the education sector.
I would love to help you achieve the grade you deserve in your exams. If you think I can help please don’t hesitate to contact.
I have been tutoring for 2 years now. I like to have an initial meeting with each student to determine what areas they are struggling with. I like to adapt to learning styles throughout the sessions to ensure each learner reaches their potential
Lessons are structured to meet individual needs. An initial assessment will be carried out to determine the level of the learner and areas that need to be covered. Homework can be given if required however I find it more important for learners to revise in session material so that each session can build on prior knowledge.
