I am an enthusiastic and friendly tutor with experience in both mentoring and teaching students in Biology. I became a tutor as I can greatly empathise with the frustrations and pressures of Science education! With a personal experience learning Biology, from GCSE to Master's level, I have also gained the knowledge and expertise required to apply teaching to all levels of student capability. Pursuing my passion for teaching, I became a fully trained Peer Assisted Study Scheme (PASS) Leader at the University of Manchester. In this role, I developed inventive learning techniques and effectively taught students in their first Year of Biology. During my role as Student Ambassador I also gained experience in teaching prospective students the basics of Biology at Undergraduate level, including practical laboratory skills. As part of the Realising Opportunities scheme, I have also mentored students in A-level education to support their transition into Degree level education to help make the process that little bit less stressful. From my range of experience (both learning and teaching Biology) I have gained skills that enable me to teach students effectively whilst also keeping lessons engaging and enjoyable. I am flexible with timings and will happily travel to Tutees' homes in Coventry and the surrounding areas.
