I am an experienced Secondary English teacher currently teaching in London and living in East Molesey. I studied English Language and Literature with the Open University, and completed my undergraduate degree in 2014 with a First. I then successfully completed an English PGCE at UCL in London. I offer tutoring in English Language and English literature up to A-Level, and have plenty of experience having tutored many students of a range of ages and abilities since becoming qualified

I currently teach years 7-11 at school and have tutored a broad range of ages from 7 to 20.

Lessons are always carefully planned to suit the needs of each individual student, based on their age, ability, and what their personal goals are. I incorporate both fun and structure for my younger students, often focusing on texts that are of personal interest to them. Older students often benefit from being given the opportunity to give their own input and guide the lessons themselves. I prioritize finding out what a student's strengths are and then what they may struggle with most, or what they feel we need to focus on- working in conjunction with what they may already be studying at school. For students preparing for upcoming exams, I use past papers and exemplars as a resource in my lessons , helping accustom them to the format of the papers they will be taking and what an excellent answer looks like.
