I am currently studying towards a Masters in Economics and Finance having got a 2.1 in BA Politics and Economics in 2023. I have studied economics since A-Level and so have both a deep and broad understanding on the subject, and due to the strong emphasis that it has on maths, also have a strong grasp on the subject, in both an economics and pure context.

I have both formal and informal tutoring experience, having now tutored two students A-Level Economics as well as my younger brother in Maths, English and History GCSE. I find the best approach is always to encourage the student as this builds their confidence within the subject. Since each student has different learning preferences, I would ensure to cater to this, whether it be spending more time explaining and going through the content, allowing the student more time to practice under my supervision during the session.

During the first tutoring session I like to do a short assessment as this allows me to assess where the student's strengths and the areas which could be improved as well as asking the student areas in which they are confident and less confident in. From there I then plan lessons around the findings from the assessment and the confidence levels of the student, creating worksheets and help-sheets for the student to use.
