Matthew A

Hello. My name is Matthew. I've been offering 1-on-1 tuition in science and maths subjects since early 2019. I've always loved science and found it highly interesting and fascinating, so I can inject a lot of energy and love for the subject in my lessons. It is important for me to be able to make lessons fun so that students find them interesting and engaging. I have a Bachelors Degree in Biochemistry and Genetics (University of Nottingham) and a Masters in Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology (University of Leicester), as well as A levels in Maths, Physics, Human Biology, and Chemistry. My key strengths are: efficient, highly reliable, meticulous, creative, diplomatic, and friendly.

- I've been giving 1-on-1 lessons at students' homes since February 2019. Mainly these have been in GCSE maths and science, but I've also had some KS3 and A-level students as well. - Currently working at a couple of tutoring centres, helping to tutor kids and young teenagers in maths and English (since May 2019 at one centre and since June 2019 at another).

I prefer to create practice questions to determine which areas the student is good at and which they're not too confident in. Once I can pinpoint the areas they're struggling with, I go in-depth trying to explain the how and the why, to make sure the student can understand what's going on and not just memorize it. After that, how well they understood it I can test with more practice questions.
