About Raasib

Biography
At present I am completing a Ph.D in Developmental Biology. In my academic studies to date, I achieved A*AA (Biology, Chemistry and Geography) at A-level and 6 A*'s, 5 A's and a B at GCSE level. After completing sixth form, I went onto study B.Sc. Neuroscience at Nottingham University, which was followed by an M.Sci. in Translational Embryology . I acheived Honours in the First-class in both these qualifications. I hold the position of an Teaching Associate and Student Mentor at UCL. Here, my role entails supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students with their academic studies, delivering seminars and providing support. Away from practising medicine and researching in the lab, I have a great passion for football and boxing.

Tutoring Experience
I have tutored for almost 8 years, which has predominantly been in the sciences (Biology and Chemistry) at all levels throughout the academic ladder (KS1 through to University). That said, I have also taught Physics, Mathematics and English to GCSE level which I have a good competency of doing. I have also helped with various personal statement applications through UCAS for a wide-range of degrees, can help in the interview process, have tutored extensively for the 11+ entrance exam, SAT exams and also entrance exams for Medicine and Dentistry, the UKCAT and BMAT. For me, the aim of being a tutor is to ensure my students are able to push themselves in order to maximise their full potential. My extensive experience means that I offer lessons that are enaging, organised and professional. My enthusiastic and friendly approach ensures I am able to develop a strong rapport with my students so that they can be confident and look forward to their lessons. My holisitc approach ensures that I am able to adapt to students of all ages and abilities. My flexibility enables me to context my teaching style and vocabulary to meet the needs of the student. I am driven on the idea that every lesson has the ability to inspire and transform a child and that is why I commit all my time and effort into making this a reality. I make sure I am accessible at all times and ensure I provide direction and constructive feedback during and after lessons. I hope to inspire the next generation of children enabling the student to excel in whatever they ought to become and reach.

Lesson Planning
This is tailored planned to the student itself which I discuss and change whenever required. I believe the student is the one who takes charge, and I adapt to ensure my lessons are organised in a way that the student is able to get the most out of it.

Exam Board Experience
I have great understanding of the syallabus of all exam boards, particularly AQA for GCSE science and OCR for A level. Exam boards are not a problem, as a tutor it is on me to ensure the student understands what is required of them and to make sure they know how they will be assessed. If grasp of knowledge is there, the student will be able to apply themselves to anything.
