About Tanya

My teaching methods are catered around the student, ensuring a positive and fun learning experience. Mathematics is an essential subject to learn and is a subject I am passionate about and want to make it both interesting and fun. I have enjoyed working with young people since 2014 with various positive experiences from each where I strive to have a positive impact on everyone I meet.

Tutoring Experience
Despite not having experience tutoring I have worked with a lot of young people from five years old up to fourteen over the last seven years including supporting and leading group and individual activities at my local guide centre and coaching and teaching young people the basics of Water Polo. I am always patient, calm and will never give up. I am enthusiastic, competent, organised and creative. I hope to continue those traits through this tutoring experience. I have also supported and guided my younger sibling through their mathematics GCSE.

Lesson Planning
Depending on the age of the young person lessons will be aimed and build around them and what they need, including relevant activities and resources. Pre-planning will be an essential part of my teaching method this will include researching resources and relevant methods to guide the young person through the tutoring. There will of course always be a plan B so if one teaching style is not working we can try another. I believe all young people have the potential to achieve greatly and learn in different ways and all lessons will reflect that.

Exam Board Experience
I am familiar with the WJEC from my time doing exams but not as a teacher. I however if necessary do the research required so that I can become more familiar.

Student Success Stories
I helped my sibling with their maths GCSE and Addiional Mathematics where they achieved high grades.
