Thomas T

Hi, I’m Tom. I am a qualified A-level teacher and examiner for A-level Science subjects. I also have a teaching qualification - AFHEA). I am extensively trained in safeguarding and data protection and receive refresher training every year. For your peace of mind, I have a clean, enhanced DBS certificate available on the Update Service I have 8+ GCSE's A* - C, three A-Levels A* - C, a 2:1 BSc (Hons) degree and a 2:1 MSc degree. If you would like to request tuition for your son/daughter or for yourself, please do not hesitate to send me a message on Tutorspot and I will respond within a few hours.

I have been a private tutor and mentor for students from all backgrounds for more than eight years and I have taught students from all over the world, including Europe, the USA, Asia and Northern Ireland. I am qualified to teach KS3, GCSE, A-Level and Undergraduate students; including adult learners moving back into mainstream education in the UK. I have supported students applying for prestigious undergraduate courses (including Medicine, Veterinary Science and Law) at Russel Group Universities as well as Oxbridge. I take a huge amount of pride in my work, which is why all of my students' grades have progressed in the time we have worked together. Many of my students have progressed onto prestigious degrees at their first choice university and others have since progressed onto competitive apprenticeships or full-time employment. References from previous students/parents are available upon written request.

Tuition with myself is adaptable, dynamic, engaging and inspiring. The structure of each lesson is relatable and highly personalised to your unique requirements, academic goals, strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, we will dedicate some time to discuss these at the start of our first lesson together. I believe that "more data is better data" meaning that the more I know about you, the more personalised your lessons will be. For example, if you think you need more help with exam technique and "figuring out what an exam question wants" this is something that we can prioritise in our lessons. Furthermore, some students only want help with learning the content/theory associated with the subject, others want help with only exam questions, whereas others want a combination of both. In other words, the choice is yours and I am led by you! We will work together to address any areas of weakness, whilst still ensuring that your strengths are maintained.

I am experienced with all major UK exam boards, including AQA, OCR (A/B) and Edexcel (A/B). AQA and Edexcel are my most popular and those that I am most experienced with. I also have some experience with Cambridge National and WJEC.

All of my previous students have progressed by at least two grade boundaries. The longest I have worked with a student is 6 years! Many of my previous students have done so well that they have progressed to study Medicine, Veterinary Science and Law at Russel Group Universities as well as Cambridge and Oxford University.
