Biography
I am an enthusiastic, flexible and self-motivated individual with a positive, 'can-do' attitude. I understand the importance of producing an encouraging, creative and safe learning environment for the children that I work with. I have taught KS1 (Year 1) and KS2 (Year 4) but also have a good understanding of the National Curriculum for all primary school year groups. I provide tutoring for all primary school subjects including English, Maths, Science and Phonics. I have a lot of experience of working with pupils who have SEND or EAL. During planning I like to include as much creativity in my lessons as possible, as I believe that curiosity, freedom and imagination is vital. These allow pupils to show their personality through the work they produce and discover a love of learning. Additionally, I am extremely organised and have high standards of communication, strong interpersonal skills and I work well with parents to achieve the best results for their child/children.
Tutoring Experience
I am new to tutoring, however I would be a great private tutor as I am a qualified primary school teacher. I know the National Curriculum well and what needs to be taught for each year group. I also have access to a lot of great resources.
Lesson Planning
I create individual lesson plans. I ensure to include an introduction/warm up, main activity and plenary where I will conclude the lesson. I will also set homework if necessary. I will also assess the child at the end of a unit of work to ensure that there are no misunderstandings.
Exam Board Experience
I have some experience with exam boards. I am familiar with KS1 SATS and also the phonics screening assessment.
Student Success Stories
I am known to raise standards in pupils with low attaining grades whilst also ensuring that I challenge pupils of high abilities too. I make lessons visual, fun and engaging.
